LILITH o LYLYT secondo la radice ebraica. La sposa di Samael e la regina dei demoni e degli spiriti notturni. Secondo Raphael Patai, una delle prime menzioni di Lilith risale intorno al 2400 a.C e viene chiamata il demone Lillu. I Lillu erano essenzialmente una classe di demoni vampirici che cercavano il desiderio, soddisfazione sessuale, e divoravano alcuni di quelli con cui andavano a letto. Gli inizi di Lilith sono paragonabili all'essenza antinomiana che si complimenta con il suo compagno, Samael, le cui manifestazioni sono molte e altrettanto diverse nel folklore e nelle descrizioni storiche. Le origini semitiche della dea Lilith si trovano nel concetto che la Dea è nata con Samael l'angelo caduto, e che siano in unione come una specie di gemelli infernali, simili ad Adamo ed Eva. In particolari culture oniriche Lilith viene visualizzata come Madonna Nera, alcuni fanno riferimento a lei come alla Nera Kalì, si possono trovare corrispondenze anche tra Lilith e Cthulhu di Lovecraft, o alla Dea può corrispondere Pomba Gira della Quimbanda, nella mitologia egizia invece può essere equiparata a Nephtys, e ancora a Lilya nelle culture tzigane, o a Hel nella visione norrena, e in alcuni aspetti anche a Ixchel presso i miti Maya.
