Intervista a Eric Hanley, sacerdote del TOPH a cura di Francesca Lingesso (Italian/English)

Eric Hanley è un sacerdote dell’Ordine del Fosforo. È stato un luciferino praticante e uno stregone da oltre dieci anni. Attualmente sta lavorando alla sua laurea in Scrittura Creativa e come artigiano professionista. È uno studente del Sentiero della Mano Sinistra e studia più di un approccio. Le sue tecniche preferite si trovano in molte fonti, principalmente negli scritti di stimati popoli occulti che hanno aperto la strada al moderno Luciferianesimo. Vive in Colorado e ha 5 figli e 8 nipoti. Gli piace scrivere, suonare la chitarra, fare escursioni e fotografare.

Raccontaci un po’ di te, come ti sei avvicinato al Luciferismo?

Sono un luciferino praticante da 10 anni. Il mio approccio è cambiato negli anni, con approcci diversi.
Ad oggi, il mio approccio potrebbe essere considerato Gnostico
sulla natura ed anche Ermetico. Considero il corpo e la mente umani come dotati della capacità di connettersi al tutto, sia esso il lato oscuro o quello della Luce.
Personalmente provo una profonda connessione con Tiamat, Kali o Hekate come fonte della Fiamma Nera. Per me, la porta di accesso a questa Gnosi viene raggiunta interiormente, tramite la meditazione Ahrimanica o Kundalini.
Considero la Goetia Quiliphotica o, più recentemente, per me il Daeva Yassana, come delle porte interne alla conoscenza nascosta e all’ espansione della mente e dello spirito luciferiano.
Il mio approccio al femminile divino è quello di un thelemita vede Nuit. Sebbene nei miti antichi, invece del femminile divino che guida l’individuo a cedere la volontà personale a una volontà universale, Tiamat ha riempito le sue creazioni col veleno e la sete di sangue, questo per me è la rappresentazione perfetta dell’individuo che sviluppa la psiche come
unità divina, proprio come nel Vamachara.

Molto interessante la tua visione così varia dove si incontrano diversi aspetti del femminile sacro, quali libri e pratica ti ha influenzato di più in questi dieci anni?

Michael Ford, Crowley, Michael Bertiaux, Peter Carrol, Stephen Flowers, Don Webb, Anton Lavey, David Shomaker, Thomas Karlsson.

Tu fai parte del TOPH, sono convinta che in questo percorso a volte si perdono certe cose o persone durante il cammino come se fosse un rito di passaggio obbligato, è stato così anche per te?
Ho praticato per anni da solo. Lo amavo. Non sto insinuando che un individuo debba unirsi a un ordine per essere un luciferino. Ma ho trovato molto potente sfidare me stesso ad andare oltre e consentire al mio lavoro di essere criticato dai colleghi. Un altro buon risultato del lavoro iniziatico è la disciplina che costruisce per raggiungere i voti, questo allena la mente individuale ad essere precisa e disciplinata, aiuta la magia personale ad essere più efficace. Quindi, difficile è buono secondo me.

Abbiamo notato che molte persone sono attratte da questa corrente luciferiana ma poi quando si rendono conto che c’è da lavorare non solo a livello teorico ma anche pratico, esse scappano via. La disciplina pratica è molto importante, qual è la tua routine e quanto tempo dedichi ad essa ogni giorno?
La maggior parte dei giorni medito almeno 30 minuti al giorno, faccio esercizio per almeno 30 minuti e dedico più tempo possibile ai lavori legati ai rituali e alla magia.
Penso che sia anche vitale per ogni individuo investire tempo nelle capacità creative personali, anche incorporare quelle abilità artistiche o creative nella tua magia.

Il luciferismo stimola le proprie attitudini artistiche e altro, quali sono le tue?
Sono un musicista, uno scrittore, sono molto vicino ad avere una laurea in Scrittura Creativa. Sono anche un artista, un segreto che molti non conoscono, ho ricevuto la mia prima borsa di studio universitaria per l’arte all’età di 12 anni.

La nostra corrente Luciferiana ha diversi tipi di magia pratica o stregoneria, Goetia, Ctonia e Stregoneria Arimanica. Sappiamo quanto sia importante per un luciferiano praticare tutte e tre specialmente se si vogliono raggiungere dei risultati, tu hai una preferenza tra queste tre?
Tutti e tre addestrano la mente e il corpo degli iniziati a risvegliare il Grande Serpente interiore, ma io amo la Stregoneria Ahrimanic il meglio, sento che è più vicino a come potrebbero essere stati i miei antenati.

Parlaci del progetto The Luciferian Research Society la piattaforma fondata anche da Jeremy Crow.
Il sito è un luogo dove i praticanti di occultismo possono confrontarsi all’interno di forum privati con persone dalla mentalità analoga. E’ possibile avere un blog personale e le proprie informazioni personali sono tutelate.

Cosa puoi consigliare a chi si avvicina al Luciferismo e a chi vuole entrare come Iniziato nel TOPH?
Consiglio loro di leggere grossolanamente il materiale, di dedicare del tempo per capirlo e di fare i semplici esercizi che vengono suggeriti. Significa dedicarsi alla meditazione, alla scrittura di un diario e il confronto con i propri difetti e fallimenti. Molti desiderano entrare nel TOPH, ma decidono che il lavoro è troppo duro. Spesso le persone
perdono interesse a causa di molte ragioni. Non è necessario aderire a
un’organizzazione per seguire l’LHP e il TOPH non è l’unico modo per ottenere risultati.
Vorrei dire all’aspirante iniziato di essere paziente, mantenere una mente
aperta e lavorare, questo produrrà risultati se si persevera.

Quali sono i tuoi progetti futuri?
Sono interessato in dar vita ad un blog, una rivista online per gli Iniziati Luciferiani che sono interessati in sviluppare le loro abilità artistiche, e possibilmente trasformarlo in una pubblicazione. Sto lavorando anche al mio grimorio personale e ad un romanzo horror.

His favored techniques are found in many sources, mainly the writings of esteemed Occult peoples who have paved the way for modern Luciferianism. He lives in Colorado and has 5 children and 8

I have been a practicing Luciferian for 10 years. My approach has changed over the years, with different approaches. To date, my approach could be considered Gnostic in nature and Hermetic as well. I do view the human body and mind as having the ability to connect to the all, be it the dark or light side of it. I personally feel a deep connection to Tiamat, Kali, or Hekate as the source of the Black Flame.
For me , the doorway to this Gnosis is achieved within, via Ahrimanic or Kundalini meditation. I view Qlippthoc, Goetic, or more recently for me the Daeva Yassana to be inner doorways to hidden l knowledge and expansions of the Liciferian mind and spirit. I view the divine feminine much as a Thelemite views Nuit. Though in ancient myths, instead of the divine feminine guiding the individual to relinquish personal will to a universal will, Tiamat filled her creations with Venom for blood, this for me represents the individual who develops the psyche to be divine in it’s own right, much as Vamachara.

If I understand you correctly, yes, I think that initiating the Black Flame witbin ones self means loosing habits, people, behaviors , or thought patterns which do not serve ones best interest.

You are part of the TOPH, I am convinced that in this path sometimes certain things or people are lost along the way as if it were a mandatory rite of passage, was this also the case for you?

I practiced for years by myself. I loved it. I am not implying that an individual has to join an order to be a Luciferian. But I have found it very powerful to challenge myself to go farther, and allow my work to be critiqued by peers. Another good result of initiatory work is the discipline it builds to a achieve the grades, this trains the individual mind to be precise and disciplined , this helps personal magick to be more effective. So, difficult is good in my opinion.
Most days I meditate at least 30 mins a day, exercise at least 30 mins, and I devote much time as I can to ritual and magick related workings. I think ita also vital for each individual to invest time into personal creative skills, even incorporate those artistic or creative skills into your magick.

I am a musician, a writer, I am very close to having a Bachelors degree in Creative Writing. I am also an artist, a secret most dont know, I received my first college scholarship art at the age of 12.

Tell us about The Luciferian Research Society project, the platform also founded by Jeremy Crow
This is a place where Liciferian and occult people can have a private forum to interact with others who are like minded. There are different orders and approaches there. You can have a personal blog, and your information is secure.

What can you recommend to those who approach Luciferism and to those who want to enter the TOPH as an initiate?

I reccomend they of course read the material, take the time to understand it, and do the simple exercises that are suggested there. Meaning the meditation, the writing in a journal, and the confronting of ones own flaws and failures. Many desire to be associated with the TOPH, but decide the work is too hard. Often people lose interest because of many reasons. One doesn’t have to join an organization in order to follow the LHP, and the TOPH is not the only way to achieve results. I would say to the aspiring initiate to be patient, keep an open mind, and do the work, it will
produce results if you keep at it.

What are your future projects?

I am interested in starting a blog, an online magazine for Luciferian initiates that are interested in developing artistic skills, and possibly turning that into a publication. I also am working on my own Grimoire and a Horror Fiction Novel.
